How to pick profitable products to sell on Clickbank

Posted by H. Miller in October 18th 2009

I know many people get excited, sign up for clickbank and are ready to start making money. The problem is that many of them have a real hard time figuring out what to sell. They want to make sure they sell the products that will make them the most money. So here are a few things I look for when it comes to picking profitable products on clickbank.

Gravity – A good indicator that a product will sell is the gravity. The gravity is a number calculated by clickbank that shows how many different affiliates have sold a particular product within the past 8 weeks. A high gravity is a good indicator that the product is currently hot and selling very well. Though high gravity is a good indicator of whether a product will sell or not, that doesn’t mean products with low gravity won’t. Just cause a product has a gravity of 2 doesn’t mean the product isn’t good and won’t sale. Sometimes that simply means the product is new or the vendor of the product hasn’t done a good job recruiting affiliates to sell the product.

Keywords – I always use the google keyword tool to see just how many people are bidding on keywords related to the particular product I want to promote. The more people I see bidding on keywords related to the product the better. If people are willing to pay for traffic then they are making money from it. That means I can jump in, saturate the market with my articles and start making money.

The Salespage – Always, and I mean always read the salespage before you start promoting a product. If the page looks a mess and the copy sucks then guess what? People will not be buying the product. It is your job to visit the salespage and read through the copy to make sure its good. If it doesn’t sell you then chances are it won’t sell anyone else.

Materials offered – Before I start promoting a product I always check to see what materials are offered to the affiliate. You can check this out by going to the vendors affiliate page. I am a big article marketer so if a vendor offers articles that makes my job alot easier. I can read through their articles to come up with my own. It eliminates the need for alot of research. Most vendors offer articles, press releases, keyword lists and some even offer a rebrandable ebook you can use to build a list. The more material they offer the easier your job will be.

7 Tips For Successful Article Marketing Titles

7 Tips For Successful Article Marketing Titles
By Bob Hamilton

Quick, what’s the first thing you see when you look at a fresh article? The picture? The animated advertisement next to it? No, the first thing you see when you look at a new article is seen BEFORE you go to the article: your title and possibly several lines from within the article.

Your article’s title needs to do two things very well: it has to capture the interest of search engine spiders, and it has to captivate your readers so that they’ll click on it and visit your site – your real motive for writing to begin with. How can you do this?

1. Start by paying attention to the article’s keywording structure, but not so much that you ignore the human aspect. Ideally the keyword you are theming your article around should be in the title, and preferably within the first five words. But don’t marry yourself to that; things may change, especially with a really hairy keyword.

2. Articles that include the words Tips, Tricks, # Ways to, # Great Hints for, Free, and similar verbiage have a better than average chance of being read. They also have a better chance than other articles of placing well in Google. Do not do all your articles this way, but do consider structuring at least some of them with these words and concepts.

3. Use shocking, but not out-of-bounds, words. One of my favorites: “The Terrible Poop Explosion, And Other Baby Emergencies”. Another: “The Use and Abuse of Google.” Sharp words catch people’s attention, sharply. Offensive language, however, is likely to turn off the very people you want to capture. Edgy, as long as it isn’t too edgy or inappropriately edgy for your audience, is fine.

4. Use action words, and words that paint a picture. If you can tell a story with your title, you’ll have them, right there.

5. Do NOT use the exclamation point in your title. Do not use an exclamation point at all. These are the fakest punctuation marks in English, and are used like a laugh track in a bad sitcom to tell the readers, “Hey! Look! this is INTERESTING!” Similarly, don’t use eccentric punctuation or capitalization to make your title cool. Keep it simple, and if your words don’t get the idea across without gimmicks, you’re using the wrong words.

6. A question mark is a good thing to use in a title. When reading a story, most people lose interest if one thing is missing: a question that needs answering. Your article should be the same way: your title should ask a question, with or without a question mark. With the explosion above, you wondered what that was about, right? How about these titles: “How can I keep my boyfriend happy?” “Does God Matter?” “How Can You Save Money On Gas Today?” All these titles will draw the interest and attention of a specific target market.

7. Finally, always remember who your customer is, and write for them. You won’t sell a thing if you don’t know who this person is, and you’re in this business to make money – right?

Got all that? Now go out and look at the articles you’ve already written for your article marketing campaign. Do they fulfill the requirements as listed above? If not, you’ve got some rewriting to do.

To your article marketing success!

The truth about duplicate content

I was just watching a webinar and I got so frustrated because the people giving the webinar kept saying that if you place the same article on multiple sites you will get a penatly from Google. This is so not true. Never has been. So I went and found a video to help everyone understand what the whole duplicate content thing is really all about. This comes straight out of the mouth of Greg Grothaus, the software engineer at Google. I hope you find it helpful. Please reTweet if you do.

How to make more money as an affiliate

Posted by H. Miller in September 25th 2009

I am probably one of the biggest fans of affiliate marketing there is. I simply love it. I think its great that I don’t have to worry about product creation, inventory or customer service. My only job is to generate traffic to the merchants site and if a sale is made I make money. Sounds simple but it really takes work and alot of consistency to be a successful affiliate marketer. Here are a few things you can do to make more money as an affiliate marketer.

Set up your own money page – I think it is very important that you have your own website or blog to promote your affiliate products. Don’t just send potential customers directly to the merchants site. You want to build a presence in every niche you enter in. Please know that there is no need to spend money on a domain or hosting when you are first starting out. You can set up a free blog using blogger that will work just fine. You can actually continue to use this free blog for as long as you want. You really don’t have to get all fancy with your blog or website to make money. Simple is always better. Put a few articles on your blog and start sending traffic to it. Make sure you use your affiliate link to link to the merchants site from your articles.

Build a list – When you are first starting out this is not of extreme importance but as you grow your business it will be a vital part. I must admit, I have been so hard headed when it comes to this. I just don’t know what it is but I really don’t like the idea of having to build a list. But as I have grown as an affiliate marketer I see just how important and valuable a list can be. It is alot easier to send an email to a thousand people then to write 100 articles trying to get a thousand people to hear what you have to say.

Promote recurring billing products – A great way to build a strong passive income is by promoting products that must be paid for on a monthly basis. For instance, promoting a membership site will get you a commission for every month the member stays a member. There is nothing better then getting paid over and over again for something you did once.

Be aggressive – If you are going to do this then give it your all. Don’t do it half you know what. Give it all you got. Write as many articles as you can, create as many videos as you can, do as many press releases as you can. The person with the most information out there, dominating the conversation as Howie Schwartz says, is going to get the most sales. PERIOD!

Be consistent – Don’t write 20 articles one week and then write zero the next. If you do you will get a sale here and a sale there. You won’t have a constant flow of income coming in. The goal is to make enough money to quit your job and focus on your business full time. So be consistent. Set a schedule and stick to it.

please leave feedback I want to know what you think

How To Get A Ton Of Traffic To Your Website For Free

Posted by H. Miller in September 9th 2009

Generating traffic to your website can sometimes be a very frustrating and tedious task. It can also become very expensive if you do not know what you are doing.  Traffic is the lifeline of any internet business. Without traffic, you make no money. Since the goal of most websites is to turn a profit, traffic generation is a very important factor.

Here are 3 totally free ways you can start generating traffic to your website almost immediately.

Twitter – Twitter is where its at these days. Its one of the most visited social networking sites online. Join twitter right now if you havent already. Write a short bio, add your link and start making friends. The key to being successful on social networking sites is sharing. Share information and help people out. The more you share the more people will visit your page to see what you have to say. Your following will quickly grow.  Once people see that you are willing to share instead of sell them all the time, they are more likely to visit your site and take advantage of what you have to offer. I personally dedicate about an hour a day posting and following people on Twitter. I try to keep it to an hour because twitter is very addictive.  If I don’t make myself get off the site, I will be on it all day. Since im trying to make money online, I have to set aside a certain amount of time for each task.

Write articles – Article marketing, in my opinion, is one of the greatest ways to generate free traffic to your website. Articles work really well. It can take a while to get your first few articles out there, but once you get the hang of it you will be able to finish multiple articles in a short period of time. The more articles you have out there the better. I submit my articles to 8 different directories. Ehow, EzineArticles, ArticlesBase, ArticleDashboard, Easyarticles, Ideamarketers, GoArticles and ArticleAlley.  If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on PPC and other forms of paid advertisement then article marketing is the best way to go.

Bookmark EVERYTHING – I use onlywire to spread my articles and blog posts across several different social bookmarketing sites quickly.  This not only gives me a boost in traffic but it also helps my link popularity.  Onlywire submits your bookmarks to 28 different websites.  If you want a lot of traffic, bookmark EVERYTHING.

How to quickly turn your article into a video

Posted by H. Miller in August 23rd 2009

If you have read any of my articles then you know I am a huge article marketer. Writing articles is such a great way to generate targeted traffic to any website. The more articles you write the more traffic you will get which will eventually turn into money in your pocket.

Now I am sure you are aware of just how popular video is these days. Sites like youtube get billions of views on videos every single month. That means video is very powerful. Its only natural that as an article marketer I incorporate video into my marketing plan. Videos will help with backlinks and help drive even more traffic to my websites.

So here we go. Here is how to quickly turn your article into a video.

Type out your article in notepad – The first thing you need to do is type out your article if you haven’t already. Make sure you do it in notepad so you can save it as a .txt file. Also make sure you create a space between each paragraph. You will see why in just a minute.

Open powerpoint – The second thing you need to do is open powerpoint. Once in powerpoint go to open file and find your article. Select it and powerpoint will automatically put each paragraph on its own slide. You now have a full powerpoint presentation. You can change the theme and anything else you need to by selecting “view” and the “master slide”. When you work from the master slide you are able to change all the slides at the same time. For example lets say you want to change the font on all of your slides. To avoid doing it one by one go into the master slide and change the font there. Once your done the font will have changed on all of your slides. Also make sure you select all the slides and change the layout to “title”.

Time to make the video – The final step is creating the actual video. You will need a mic for this so if you don’t have one go to walmart and get one. They are less then $10. Download camstudio, its free, so you can record the powerpoint presentation. Once you have done that save your video and post it on several video sharing sites. Use tubemogul, also free, to distribute your video to several sites all from one place.

I know this seems like alot but once you actual do it you will see that it should only take you 5-10 miuntes.
