Twitter is the place to be these days. And for good reason. There are so many people on this site. It can literally help you triple or double your profits. I have been on twitter for maybe 3 weeks now and made one tweet about a product I was selling and made a sale within 15 minutes of posting that tweet. Twitter is just that powerful. I first started out by getting to know people. Building relationships. When you build relationships, people start to trust you. Once they trust you, they will happily spend their money with you.

But, the only way you can start to build those quality relationships is if you have followers. So here are 3 ways you can get more followers on Twitter quickly.

Follow others – Some people on twitter have it set up so when someone follows them they automatically follow them back. So find a few people that you consider “experts” in the field that you are interested in and start following them. You will also want to go down their list of followers and start following some of them. This is a quick way to get more followers.

Add yourself to Wefollow.com – We follow is a user powered twitter directory created by the same person who created Digg. You simply add yourself to the directory, pick a category you want to be listed under and then you are off. People will be able to find you and start following you. This helped me generate almost 500 followers my first week on twitter.

Use search.twitter.com – This is a site that allows you to type in keywords and see who has made posts that relate to those keywords. Type in a few keywords that relate to the industry you are in and start following those users. For instance, if you are in the affliate marketing industry simply type in “affiliate marketing” and then go down the list and start following users.

Now once you start building up your followers its important to keep them engaged. Post something on your twitter account everyday. It can be a “quote of the day” , “joke of the day”, some sort of inspiration, anything that will keep them reading your twitter page. Don’t sell, sell, sell. Focus on interacting and building relationships. At the end of the day, we are all trying to make money from this site but the only way you can do that is by providing your followers with good valuable information.
