How to build trust online

If you want to make money online, you first need to build trust. Why? Because people buy from those they trust. Online you don’t have the same one on one affect you get when you go into a brick and mortar business. Online, all a person can go by is your name and the information you provide. Building trust online is not as hard nor does it take as long as some might think. Here are 3 things you can do starting today that will help build your trust online with your potential customers.
Write articles – Articles do more then just drive traffic to your site. They also make people feel comfortable with you. Try to write 1 or 2 articles a day. Make sure they are informative. Give people good information that they can use immediately. Once they see you are not trying to sell them all they time they will feel more comfortable spending their money with you. Make sure you use the same name on your blog, in articles directories and where ever you post articles. This way people will know its you. It helps with branding.
Social networking sites – Join some of the top social networking sites and be active. Social networking sites are huge. Facebook has an estimated 150 million ACTIVE users. That is a lot of people, all of whom could be your potential customer. Make posts at least once or twice a week that pertain to your business. Don’t over do it. Some people make too many posts about their business and that turns people off. When you write articles, let your friends know about it and they will visit your site to read it. Twitter is also another great social networking site to join. Once again, use the same name that you use everywhere else.
Forums – Join one or two forums that pertain to your industry and start answering questions. Once again, it’s all about being active and freely sharing your knowledge with others. You can also use sites such as yahoo answers and answerbag to answer questions. After you answer so many questions people will start to trust you and they will visit your site and possibly spend money with you.
Remember, if you want to make money online build trust. It does not matter how great your product is. If people do not trust you, they will not buy from you.
